EarthWalk Information
EarthWalk 2010
Sunday, April 11
Theis Park
Join Kansas City for an approximately 3-mile walk through Theis Park and along Brush Creek to support Bridging The Gap and local environmental education.
(That’s right! No registration fees this year!)
We want everyone to come show their support for a more sustainable Kansas City!
Of course, we also want you to raise pledges to support the work of Bridging The Gap to make our region more sustainable. Here’s how you can:
Make a donation yourself. Donate online, mail in a donation if registering via mail, or bring money to the walk.
Create or join a team. Make an even greater difference by joining with others to raise money!
Raise $100 or more to receive an EarthWalk T-shirt!
Parking Information
Parking is available:
At the Kauffman Foundation and Kauffman Gardens
On the UMKC Campus (any spot not marked reserved 24/7)
In the Midwest Research Institute employee parking lot (entrance off of Oak Street)
Limited off-street parking available off Oak Street
Walk Sustainably!
You can help us make the EarthWalk sustainable by:
Registering online to keep use of paper resources to a minimum.
Encouraging friends and family to sign up by sending e-mails to them and directing them to www.earthdaykc.org.
Carpooling, bicycling, walking or taking some other form of alternative transportation to the EarthWalk.
Bringing your own reusable water bottle for during and after the walk (we’ll supply the water). We’re making a conscious choice not to provide bottled water at this year’s walk. Compostable cups will be provided, too.
Helping us keep the walk route and event grounds clean by picking up any litter and recycling or disposing of it properly.
Why Walk?
By walking and/or raising money for the Kansas City EarthWalk, you directly support environmental education and awareness in Kansas City. The EarthWalk benefits Bridging The Gap, your local environmental not-for-profit organization.
Bridging The Gap works to make the Kansas City region sustainable by connecting environment, economy and communities.
